This is a programmer for a broad range PC processors. It connects to you workstaion through either a USB or serial interface. In order to keep the price low, a standard 40-pin IC socket is supplied -- you may want to replace that with your own ZIF socket such as
ZIF Socket - 40 Pin. The hardware and software were designed by Tony Nixon.
