Robot Kit Menu

Robotics is a fun, challenging activity that also develops important skills in subjects as diverse as reading, researching, critical thinking, problem solving, mechanics, electronics and software. While certainly a subject of interest to budding engineers, robotics teaches skills that are important to almost every field of interest from the arts to zoology. If you would like to learn more about robotics, visit our  Robot Builders Menu and Guide to learn about each of the components that go into a robot.

Be sure to visit all four of our robot kit sections which are described in the following table. We have robots kits for all ages, skills, interests and budgets. Most of our kits are covered by our exclusive  No-Fail Guarantee.

Toy Robot Kits

Toy robot kits provide the builder with experience using tools and following detailed instructions. The finished product is a fun toy which rolls, walks or climbs around your home. Depending on which kit you choose, these robots operate under the control of either their own built-in "brain" or a remote control.
Programmable Robot Kits

Programmable robot kits provide experience with the core technology of robotics research. In fact, many of our robot kits are used as lab projects in high schools, colleges and universities around the world. Mastering these kits involves a significant effort learning about mechanics, electronics and software.
BEAM Robot Kits

BEAM robot kits provide experience with solar energy and electronics. These robots demonstrate complex behavior with minimal environmental impact by using ingenious designs instead of heavyweight technology. "Pure" BEAM designs do not use external power and do not involve programming.
Soldering Robot Kits

Soldering is an essential skill in electronics. Its also a fun, satisfying activity in its own right. In this section we offer a variety of programmable and non-programmable robots which involve a significant level of soldering during the assembly process. Don't forget to check the BEAM Robotics and Electronic Kits sections for more soldering projects.
These kits are appropriate for kids as young as 7 years old and range in cost from $70. These kits are appropriate for older students and for interested adults and range in cost from $300. Because these kits require soldering, they are generally recommended for ages twelve and above and range in cost from $80.
