Thermocouple Kit

 

Thermocouples provide a low-cost, reliable means of measuring temperature over a wide range. Interpreting thermocouple output can be challenging because of the very low Seebeck output voltage (fractional to low millivolts) and the need to provide cold junction temperature compensation. The Parallax Thermocouple Module uses the Dallas/Maxim DS2760 High Precision Li+ Battery Monitor IC to process the thermocouple output. The Thermocouple Module has the following features:
  • 1-Wire interface allows multiple devices with just one BASIC Stamp I/O pin
  • Cold Junction measurement: 0C to +127C (0.125C resolution)
  • Low power consumption: Active current = 90 A max, Sleep current: 2 A max

In addition to the interface module, the kit includes 3 Thermocouple elements: K-type (Chromel / Alumel), J-type (Iron / Constantan), and T-type (Copper / Constantan). This kit is ideally suited to work with a BASIC Stamp BS2P24, BS2P40 or BS2PE.
