When designing your application it is your responsibility to consider safety issues and to provide all necessary overrides and interlocks, especially when dealing with high voltages or high power motors. The nominal range for these devices is about 50'. I get a little over 60' going back through the main aisle of my warehouse. I have had kite camera customers report over 200' range going up into the air. On the other hand, the range and/or reliability can drop significantly due to RF attenuation factors including electrical noise, moisture and ground conductors. I haven't tested, but I expect that the range in my warehouse would be much less if I tested across its width through multiple rows of steel shelving that is bolted into the floor and therefore pretty well grounded.

This is exactly the same technology used in most car alarm systems, so the real-life experience you have with your car gives you a reasonable level of experience regarding what to expect with this device. On a flat, paved parking lot my car can be unlocked from several rows over. In some parking structures, I suspect those with the most steel framing and rebar, the range can drop ridiculously low.

These devices use "rolling code" encryption technology to mate transmitters and receivers. This prevents pranksters from ordering a transmitter to play with your relay board without getting to your control panel. The mating process takes just a few seconds and is done by simultaneously pressing buttons on the receiver module and transmitter. Each receiver can be mated with up to 15 transmitters. Each transmitter can be mated with any number of receivers.
