Saturday, January 14:

I will be in and out most of the weekend working on projects. Just call ahead to let me know when you want to come and I can almost always work with your schedule. If you don't call ahead, Murphy's law predicts that I'll leave for the hardware store or a bike ride just before you arrive.

The store number is 650-589-2878. My cell is 650-291-8043. Feel free to text the cell phone, especially with questions that require short answers. I hate the soft keyboard on my Android, but I can manage a few words at a time. Actually, I am kind of phone challenged all together. If I don't respond fairly fast that probably means I missed it. A second text might ring its way through my thick skull.

Please come and tell your friends!

About The Store

Please read this carefully to avoid disappointment ...

The IMIM Store is a project under development. Some day this will be a great store and hang-out. Right now it is what it is, a rough space in a cold warehouse that a totally incompetent owner is trying to turn into something special.

On the other hand, I have lots of interesting products that nobody else stocks and I know what I sell insanely well. Most people who have dropped by consider it worth dealing with the quirks.

Address, directions and more important details:

The IMIM Store @ Hobby Engineering
282 Harbor Way, Unit D
South San Francisco, CA 94080

Hobby Engineering Warehouse Number: 650-589-2878

IMIM Store Number: 650-479-6253

About half the time I get to the phone just after it stops ringing. If you call during "typical retail business hours" I am more than likely nearby. Please leave a message or call back in 30 seconds after I have reached the phone.

The store number is a Google Voice number that rings the warehouse and my cell phone. You can send texts to that number. I am somewhat phone challenged due to personal preferences and quirks of Google Voice and my Android phone. I am very text oriented. You can text the store number or send email to support@HobbyEngineering.com.

Google Maps gives good direction. There are no store signs at this time, but the store is behind the roll-up door just under the "282" building number sign. We are located just north of SFO, in the industrial area on the bay side of Highway 101.

This is a rough industrial space with lots of rough edges, trip hazards and accessible power tools. It is a bad place to bring young children or dress-up clothes.

Hours: In general, I am open when I am ready for you and closed when I'm not. I am working by myself at this time. If I don't know that you are coming I may run out on errands or rudely rush you to deal with other priorities. I recognize that this is a rotten way to run a "store", but its the only way I can open the store at all at this time. A more pleasant experience can be arranged by calling ahead.

When you call, it saves time if you let me know that you have read all this, what you are looking for and when you would like to come. I generally can accommodate you preferences, I just need to know. My only goal with all the questions is to avoid disappointing you when you arrive.

Please visit to say hello and tell me about your projects and what you think the store should be. I really am a nice guy, but I'm getting old and grouchy. It really helps if you call ahead.

This will all work better when the store starts to get a little busy and I can get somebody qualified to run the place for me. If you know this technology, know how to run a store well and work dirt cheap, I may have a job for you.
