Picture of product24mm x 33mm Solar Cell, 2.3v
from Solarbotics

This small polycrystalline solar cell provides plenty of power to drive BEAM robots using pager motors. The cells are rated 2.3v at 16ma. Actual tests in bright sunlight resulted in actual voltages of 2.9v and short circuit current of up to 30ma. Multiple cells can be wired in parallel for higher current applications. The cells are mounted on a fibreglass backing and have a tough epoxy sealant on top. The polarity of the solder pads is clearly color coded and the pads are large enough to survive mild soldering abuse at the hands of novice builders. These are great cells for classroom use. These cells are also pretty, with a silver and black border and mottled blue background that changes with lighting and viewing angle, making them ideal for kinetic art projects. Manufacturer: Solarbotics. Manufacturer's Part Number: SCC2433A.
